GenesisFIT COVID - 19 Updates

MONDAY JULY 13TH 2020

THANK YOU for all of your support during this unprecedented times. Whether it was participation in our virtual classes and personal training, or just checking in, we sincerely appreciate it!

GenesisFIT is preparing to reopen our doors to our members soon.  The safety of our members and staff is of utmost importance and we have taken extra precautions to ensure that our reopening aligns with guidelines from the CDC and San Mateo County Health Department. As part of our reopening procedures, we wanted to share what things will look like once we reopen. We hope that these guidelines answer any questions that you many have, if you have any further questions or concerns,  please feel free to reach out to us at info@fit-genesis.com

It's a crazy world out there and policies and procedures are subject to change at any time.

We ask for your help with the following so that we can keep our doors open!

  • We have increased sanitation stations in the facility. Please wipe down your equipment before and after using it

  • We have removed all exercise mats. Please bring your own mat when using the facility for classes or workouts.

  • Continue to re-rack your weights and put your equipment back once you have finished using it

  • Please wear a face covering at all times while in the facility. By order of Governor Newsom and Bay Area county laws, businesses are required to refuse services to anyone who does not comply. If you remove your face covering at any time, you may be asked by staff to put it back on.

  • Use the Coronavirus self-checker to perform a self screen. Please stay home if you feel sick or are experiencing ANY symptoms of coronavirus.

Here is what we will be doing:

  • STAFF

    • Over the last four months, GenesisFIT management has spent extensive time reviewing CDC guidelines for Fitness Centers and  attended trainings to learn how to reopen as safely as possible.

    • GenesisFIT staff will undergo daily wellness screenings and temperature checks before they enter the building.  If a GenesisFIT employee is not well enough to work, they will not be permitted to work or enter the building that day.

  • CLEANING

    • GenesisFIT will have increased cleaning and sanitation. A janitor will be staffed on the second floor at all times.

    • The facility will be closed each day for a deeper clean.

    • There will be a weekend closure to perform extra cleaning.

  • LOCKER ROOMS

    • Showers and towel service will remain open for use.

    • Some lockers have been permanently locked to provide 6 feet of space between users.

    • We have increased the number of towel drops in our facility, we ask that you please ensure that your used towel makes it into the bins

    • We have temporarily removed body lotion from each locker room. We encourage you to bring your own

  • GUIDELINES

    • GenesisFIT is a 12,000 square foot facility. We are confident that we can operate without requiring reservations from members. We encourage you to practice physical distancing and stay six feet apart from other members while in the Fitness Center

    • We have provided floor coverings in the free weight area to mark recommended areas to stand

    • Due to mandates by the state of California, face coverings will be required at all times while in the facility.  We understand that this is not ideal, however your safety and comfort is our top priority.

    • We understand that wearing a mask during cardiovascular exercise is not ideal and we will be providing recommendations for outdoor alternatives

    • We will have increased spacing between cardio equipment, and floor stickers to encourage social distancing in the weight area.

  • GROUP EXERCISE

    • Class sizes will be limited to eight participants

    • We will not be providing spin classes, we will provide a "workout of the day" on a whiteboard in the facility

    • Yoga mats will not be made available. Please bring your own. Recommended

As a reminder, everyday preventive actions may help prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after visiting the restroom, before eating, after blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing or touching your face.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Consider staying home if you are not feeling well

  • Cover your cough or sneeze

  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.

Thank you for your understanding, we cannot wait to see you again
